How is Blotwise different from traditional DLP tools?+
Traditional DLP lives at the network or endpoint level and was designed for email and file transfers. Blotwise is purpose-built for AI: it operates inside the browser, understands conversational context, and enforces policies in real time before data is transmitted — not after.
Which AI platforms does Blotwise cover?+
Blotwise covers ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity AI, and custom domains you define. New platforms are added continuously — submit a request and we'll prioritize it.
Does it work on all operating systems?+
Blotwise is a Chrome extension and works on any OS that supports Chrome: Windows, macOS, Linux, and ChromeOS.
What intervention types does Blotwise support?+
Blotwise supports four intervention types: Block & Delete (remove sensitive data entirely), Smart Anonymize (mask sensitive fields and allow the rest through), Override with Audit (allow the employee to proceed with a mandatory justification), and Report False Positive (let employees flag incorrect matches).
Privacy & Security
Does the extension read all my employees' browser activity?+
No. The extension only inspects content inside supported AI tool interfaces. It never reads unrelated tabs, captures passwords, or sends raw text to our servers. Incident logs store metadata and policy match summaries, not full conversation content.
Where is my data stored?+
Incident metadata is stored in a SOC 2-compliant cloud environment. You can configure data retention periods per plan. We sign Data Processing Agreements (DPAs) with all customers.
Is Blotwise compliant with GDPR and HIPAA?+
Yes. Blotwise is designed with privacy-by-default principles. Data is processed in-browser where possible and we support all major compliance frameworks including GDPR, HIPAA, SOC 2, ISO 27001, CCPA, and PCI DSS.
Deployment
How long does deployment take?+
For Google Workspace customers, a full organization-wide rollout takes under 15 minutes via the Admin Console. For other environments, the install link approach takes a few minutes per user.
Do employees need to do anything to activate it?+
No. When deployed via Google Admin, the extension is silently installed and activated. Employees see a small icon in their toolbar — no setup required on their end.
Can employees override policies?+
Admins can optionally allow overrides with a justification requirement. Every override is logged and factors into the employee's risk score, creating accountability without blocking legitimate work.

Is there a free plan?+
Yes — Blotwise is free for up to 5 users with no time limit. All paid plans also include a 14-day free trial. No credit card required.
Do you offer annual billing?+
Yes — annual billing saves you 20% compared to monthly. Contact us to set it up.
What happens if I need to cancel?+
You can cancel at any time from your billing settings. Your subscription remains active until the end of the billing period. We don't charge cancellation fees.
